Dr. O’Connor’s interest in horses started at an early age growing up in New York where she competed in riding Hunters and Jumpers along the east coast.

After receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, she then completed an equine internship in medicine and surgery at the Equine Specialty Hospital in Ohio.  She stayed on at the practice to assist with anesthesia for surgical cases.

In 1998, both she and her husband Dr. Erich Miller moved from Ohio to Texas where they started their practice, Miller and O’Connor Veterinary Medicine.  They both live at their practice farm with their menagerie of horses, dogs, cats, and chickens.

Dr. O’Connor’s areas of interest include performance horse medicine, rehabilitation, lameness, ophthalmology, neonatology, and anesthesia.

Erich J. Miller, DVM

Dr. Miller is a graduate of The Ohio State University’s College Veterinary Medicine. He grew up on a dairy farm in West Virginia where his family owned and raised all types of animals. This exposure to animals at an early age along with a strong desire to be a doctor drove him to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. He met Dr. O'Connor in veterinary school, and they have been together ever since.

After Dr. Miller and Dr. O’Connor came to Texas, Dr. Miller worked for several years in small animal practice while he helped Dr. O’Connor establish their mobile equine practice.

Dr. Miller has interests in equine dentistry and alternative therapies as well as physical rehabilitation. He has studied equine dentistry extensively and has completed the IVAS animal acupuncture course and the Options for Animals, animal chiropractic course, achieving AVCA certification.

After working with Dr. O’Connor for many years, his interests in performance horses have grown, especially in the areas of physical rehabilitation and exercise physiology.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Miller enjoys many outdoor activities including hiking, hunting, fishing, obstacle course racing, shooting sports, and gardening.

Emily Hibner

Emily has always loved every kind of animal, but especially horses. She started riding other people's horses about age 4. At age 5, she got a Shetland Pony and has never been without a horse since. Emily has always been the one who would ride her friends' horses first to make sure they were "ok." She was Chaplain & Secretary in her FFA as well as a member of an equestrian drill team. She has shown Quarter Horses in halter, ranch events, team penning, and sorting and has also shown Paso Finos. Currently, Emily now rides for pleasure and occasionally participates in barrel races. Emily attended Sam Houston State University receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. She also recently obtained an Associates of Veterinary Technology from Lone Star College. Her current "fur babies" include two horses, two cats, a dog, and nineteen chickens. Emily joined Miller & O'Connor in 2016.
